Week 2 Training Recap

Written by Holly
Sunday, 20 July 2008

Another week completed on Jeff Orr’s Plan for Total World Domination. At least I think that’s what the plan is called, I am tired and I get confused.

I have taken it upon myself to toss a marathon into the mix (Alien Marathon, I couldn’t resist!), so I added a couple runs into my training this week. It made it easier because running makes me happy, and I got to do a 14-miler with an old friend who I needed to catch up with.

I’ve swam, biked, lifted, and Core-ed more this week (and last) than ever before, and I daresay I am learning how to swim. I still hate bike drills but I am getting through them. I now think of a day with only swimming and core work as a “Rest Day”.

The moms at the school think I am perpetually sweaty (and likely a tad rank), but I got all my workouts in and felt like a trooper this week. I have a few weird tan lines but I have perfected swim suit rotation so as to never put on a wet suit (not to be confused with a wetsuit, which I believe should be worn during normal activities even when one is not in water).

SO - half-way though the first month! Still able to ambulate and not entirely embarrassed in the water! Such progress…
