Stats and nerves

Written by Holly

This week (Week 8!) brings time trials and a couple of rest days. I have been battling a little people cold for a week or so, and am looking forward to just getting some fast efforts done and sitting back down.

People who are doing Ironman and do not require a six year pre-training plan are beginning their 12 and 13 week plans now. This makes me nervous for some reason, as though I'm already behind. I know I'm WAY ahead of where I've ever been for any race preparation-wise, but self-doubt takes over when I hear people are doing Ironman.

By way of checking my readiness, I looked at my training summary for the month. I've swam 15,425 yards this month - crazy!  I've also run 72 miles and ridden 207.4 miles. Numbers make me calm down, as I realize I've never trained this much for anything and  this is going to bring me to the finish line -  a short 18 months after I started all this IM business...
