A pace calculator is a valuable tool for setting realistic time goals. Go "forward" by putting in your pace to get your finish time or "backward" by putting in a goal time to see how fast you have to go to achieve it.

First, the Mile 7 Aid station manned by TriGirls is AWESOME, thank you to each and every volunteer who got up early to hand out water and Susie for giving me a huge kick in the pants when I needed it. You guys are great!
This is a fun race to gauge my training, because I try not to run Saguaro East unless I am racing it. My training has not included much running of late, so I was counting on my biking to give me the leg strength to get up those hills. This 8-Miler is put on by SAR; it is hilly and ugly and hot, but you certainly feel like you RAN when you’re done.
I ran with Kyle (Kyle ran with me?) the whole way, which was nice since I had no iPod. I felt great in the beginning, crappy in the middle, and great at the end (the VERY end, after I threw up a little bit). I pushed hard (too hard, I hate yakking) the last half mile to try to beat some people I’d been leapfrogging the whole race, and I ended up with a PR by more than 3 minutes, with a 1:10 and change. Yay bike training!
Thanks again to the TriGirl Volunteer Squad, headed up by Elaine- I told Kyle my girls were just up ahead at Mile 6 and he was just as excited as I was to see everyone. Don’t tell him I told you that. Haha. Good job Tina, Rachel H., Nicole, Sheryl, Shari, Virginia, and all the TTG ladies kicking serious hill butt out there!
